VINTAGE 1970s LUDWIG DRUM REWRAP VIDEO HIGHLIGHT

When do you know it's time to rewrap a vintage drum? In this instance, it was during the attempted wrap restoration on a vintage 1970s Ludwig chrome-over-wood 24" bass drum. The chrome wrap had rusted significantly, to the point the wrap was deteriorating and oxidizing on the underside, outer shell ply. Take a look and stay tuned for the finished drum. It's an amazing transformation, saving a beautiful Ludwig classic 6-ply shell. |

The original owner of this vintage Gretsch beauty retired and after 20 years of it sitting in storage, Vintage FM Drums helped to return this 1960s Gretsch round badge Progressive Jazz outfit to its original condition. Wait. It's got two rack toms. How can this be a Progressive Jazz outfit? Learn more about this complete restoration, including fixing seam separation in the drum wraps. A complete restoration of a highly sought after 1960 chrome-over-brass Super Ludwig 400. This drum gave birth to the Ludwig LM400 Supraphonic snare drum - the most recorded snare drum in history.
